ERECTED In Memory of Mr John Peabody who Departed this Life July the 29th 1780 in the 83rd year of his age.

Halt aged sage as you are passing by Stop & reflect that you are born to die. As I am now so you must surely be. Prepare prepare for Death & follow me.

Border
A dual-line border surrounds the entire stone and the tympanum. The tablet is bordered on four sides by illustrated panels. The top has diamond shapes highlighting the word ERECTED. The two side panels have six sided star/flowers at their top and stems and leaves expressed abstractly with whirlpool/nautilus like designs. The bottom continues the step leave abstract designs with a round multilevel round shape at its center.
Remark
The tympanum has a thicker top border under the dual line perimeter. The two extremes contain cross images accentuating the Memento Mori in the center. Eight levels of feathers form wings to either side of the round sun-like face.
