Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
face with ornamentation
Border
A simple two line border of thin width is utilized in various segments of the stone. One medium segment surrounds the tympanum. Two identical borders frame the side panel illustrations. The bottom of the tympanum section and the inside edge of the side panels border encase the tablet.
Remark
At the top of the tympanum, the arch controls the top of the dome. Most of the interior space is occupied by a bi-radial plant design which includes a seed, four leaves per side, and an opened flower at the top. A twisted line is used at the bottom edge of the arch. The winged figure shows a male of youthful age. The wings are raised to the top of his head and are detailed with segmentation of the feather. There is a clearly defined front edge to the wing. The face is sanguine with heavily lidded eyelids, straight mouth expression, hair combed to the front and a beautifully defined, properly portioned nose. The cheeks and chin are subtly defined but highly realistic. The side panels are illustrated with lilies on long stalks with buds.
