Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
face (alone)
Border
A two line border circumvents the circumference of this stone. From the stone's shoulders, following down along the two sides, are panels with mirror-imaged, abstract plant-like designs.
Remark
The tympanum design is unusual. The memorial is obviously for a male, but the illustration shows a head with wild curly hair that is commonly illustrative of a female. The head and face are simple round with a slight bevel cut for a chin. The mouth is straight across, his eyes are round with pupils, the eyebrows are separate and the nose is bulbous marking early period work.
