Stone Type
limestone
Tympanum
face (alone)
Border
There was a thin two line border over the tympanum that is lost to erosion. The side panels are treated as separate components on this stone. From the top concentric circles, cascading water imagery runs down each side. The tablet is divided into two sections. The information about the deceased is larger format lettering and on top. Below a line is the smaller font (and much more eroded) poem.
Remark
Erosion has eaten a lot of this stone's details away. The Tympanum had an illustrated arch below the top border but it is undecipherable. I believe the banner over the head didn't say Memento Mori but something else. The face looks pretty utilitarian which is also undoubtedly affected by the erosion. The face itself does seem to possess the remnant of a smile. The head is framed by a cloak or frame?
