Border
Part of the tympanum is lost (approximately a fifth of the upper left). We can still see that four borders protect the upper dome of the tympanum. The first two border are an outer thicker two line coupled to a thinner two line. The wider border follows the entire tympanum's edge to the border found at the top of the tablet. It does thin out half of its width after the bottom edge of the dome and proceeds around the circumference of the stone. The next larger area is illustrated with wave-like sine curves around the edge of the dome and on down the lower tympanum section giving the appearance of an arched structure that covers an inner structure that in turn houses the symbolic urn. On either side of that section are two thinner two line border. The lower section of the tympanum display wing like images to either side of this extended border. Initially, under the very outer two line border, a scalloped-like stage curtain border is inserted. Each arc of the curtain forms the culmination of a ten (10) radiant light sections that emanates from the very lower inside corner of the outer urn arch. While the left section of the tympanum is missing, we can assume it included a similar design. The next border is between the tympanum and the tablet section. It is a two line border illustrated with a bi-radial wave-like design.
Remark
The central design within the tympanum is a classic temple-like gazebo housing the urn. This ornate urn is topped by a traditional flame on its upper section. The engraving is lightly etched so the top appears transparent revealing an inner fountain-like multilevel structure with the flame on top. The lower urn section uses the same ornate design and rests of a mulitlevel base. This classically designed gazebo is assembled from two main sections; the columns on either side and the arch on top. The arch is segmented like the border above it with three sections formed by four lines. The outer two sections are the same kind of blank, two line borders. The inner section includes an interwoven sine wave-line. The columns are large multi-strand designs to hold up this arch and rest on larger bases. The tablet section is presented as a plaque freely hanging between two etched columns. The columns are mirror imaged, multilevel, and utilize a range of shapes, collars, border supporting the illusion of the design. The two upper corners also include a fan shaped ornamentation.
