Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
face with ornamentation
Border
A medium width two line border covers the top of the tympanum. It thins out to a quarter of its previous width after it rolls over the stone's shoulders and down the side. The tablet section has a single line border.
Remark
The central image in the tympanum is a large round face with minimal eye detail, no emotion and a biradial hair display on top. There is also a slight background to the side of the head. These areas are filled with pin points and could be interpreted as stars in the sky. It is also apparent how, in later periods they became curtains to a tympanum "stage." A Chatworth-like cross sits at the top of each side panel which are illustrated with a variety of curved figures.
