Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
face with ornamentation
Border
There is a two line border around the outer edge of this unusually shaped stele-like stone.
Remark
The tympanum uses the stone's shape to its advantage. The top is presented as a stage with curtains along the top and sides. The wavy haired face with accented eyebrows is a far cry from earlier strict interpretations. A frilly neck collar is offset by wings that look oddly menacing due to the sharp angles. Her face and features are late era with very human renderings.
