Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
skull
Border
Despite the damage to the edges of this stone, most details are still decipherable. A two line, thin width border has been incorporated into the circumference of this stone. There is an illustrated border around three sides of the tablet section. The tablet itself has a single line border.
Remark
Within the tympanum, there are three graphic elements. The centerpiece is a large winged skull, but in this case a crossed bones above the skull adds gravitas. The skull is an early period rendition with its lightbulb shape, round eyes, triangular nasal cavity and oversized teeth. The wings are single quill, multi-segment type with a high wing arc. The panels surrounding the tablet include a more floral rendition of the cascading imagery. The typical nautilus-like image is completely missing.
