Surveyed On
September 1, 2015
Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
face with ornamentation
Border
This small stone has a two line, thin width border over the tympanum. It is not present on the sides, but there are three illustrated panels on the sides and bottom of the tablet.
Remark
This small tympanum packs a lot into small spaces. The face appears both like a sun and flower. Over the head is a flower and the letters W and G (which I take to mean with God). There is an object that seems like an hourglass. The pictured wings have a single quill and simple lines segmenting them. The face has a very pronounced downturned mouth. The side panels have three centerpoints. Two are at the top of the side columns and one is in the middle of the bottom panel. The floral designs look like leaves blown by the wind. interspersed with nautilus swirls.
