slate
Tympanum
face with ornamentation
Border
There are several borders related to this stone's design. The tympanum has an arch at the top of the dome that transforms into a plant seed and leaf at each extremity. The tablet portion of this stone takes the form of a plaque held up by two columns.
Remark
The artwork in the tympanum includes three elements; the arch, the wings and the face. The arch covers the winged face and terminates in the form of a mirror imaged seed and leaf at each end. The face is a late period design with significant humanization of the image with a chin, cheeks, nose, etc. The wings are tab-type and longer on the top and shorter underneath the face.
