Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
skull
Border
There is a two line, varying width border around this stone's circumference. It is thicker along the tympanum and thinner along the sides. There are illustrated side panels found on three sides of the tablet section. The illustrations are centered at three points with concentric circles at the top of the side columns and in the center of the bottoms panel. The design from those points are flowing, rounded lines with a more aquatic feel than floral.
Remark
The skull adorning this tympanum is unusual in that a color (a pastel light blue) has been applied, and even more unusual, remains clearly visible. It is an early rendition with its lightbulb shape, simplified nasal cavity and teeth. There are a few points where a rough lined background texture is visible. The wings are of the single quill, multi-segment type.
