Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
face with ornamentation
Border
A very thin, two line border runs along the circumference of this stone. Three sides of the tablet are further supplemented by illustrated panels. The designs are undulating rounded shapes that seem more plant-like than other examples. The top of the two columns have a thistle-like image.
Remark
The tympanum imagery is centered on a winged head. The head appears to be a version of a judge-type figure. I find this image as a middle period rendition with an long, oval face with improved human features like the nose (not bulbous), detailed eyes, full cheeks and not a severe mouth expression. The wings present two different types of feathers. The one on the lead edge are two rows of half-circles, leading to more angular, almost triangular feathers.
