Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
face with ornamentation
Border
A two line, thin width border extens over 2/3rds of the tympanum's dome. Prior to the dome's termination, it redicts inward towards the winged face in the center. The border also forms a seed and a leaf at its terminus. The tablet section is presented as a bas-relief plaque mounted between two stone columns. The stone columns are marked off in multiple sections and at the top they sprout another seed and leaf facing inward. The gabled plaque has a three line, two border around its circumference with the second border depressed into negative space for the bas-relief.
Remark
A third of the tympanum has been lost to time. The three design elements are the border, the face and the wings. The border has already been discussed. The face follows period conventions with the pulled back hair, eyebrow to nose transition, detailed eyes and emotionless mouth. The wings are tab-type.
