- Surveyed On
- February 21, 2016
- Stone Type
- slate
- Tympanum
- urn, willow tree
- Border
- The tympanum has a beveled edge and a single line forming a border on three sides. A single line runs along the bottom.
The tablet section has a wide, two line border around its circumference.
The bas-relief plaque at the center of the tablet section has two borders. The outer one is thick with two lines. The inner one is depressed to provide the bas-relief effect.
- Remark
- The tympanum has three design elements. The willow tree has a 2+1 configuration overhanging the niche and urn.
The niche is depressed into the stone and the urn has a cross at the top and a multilevel stand.
Weirdly and crudely etched on the stone appear to the name "Mary" above Gates, and then "WP" above the word died. I would ascribe these to vandalism.
