Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
face with ornamentation
Border
A triple border protects the top of the tympanum. The outermost border hops over the stone's shoulders falls down the side. The second border goes under the stone shoulder and goes down the side next to the outermost one. The third or innermost border just goes from one side of the tympanum to the other. It begins and terminates at the very thick base of the tympanum. In the tablet section, one two line, thin width border line forms the dividing line between the tympanum and tablet section. Each of the three sides in the tablet section has two similar border lines and an illustrated panel with cascading imagery.
Remark
The tympanum has two design elements. The central image is a upper shoulder view of a human. This rendition shows an earlier rendering style with a simple oval face, large nose, simple eyes and mouth, wig, and generic body. The two shoulders have six armed stars within their circle. The imagery in the tablet section blurs the line between aquatic and floral themes. The designs drop down from the shoulders and emanate from the center of the bottom panel.
