SACRED to the memory of ARTEMAS NEWHALL, who departed this life 5 November 1808: aged 42 years. MARY NEWHALL his wife, died in Cambridge July 25, 1849 aged 82 years

All that are of the earth shall return to the earth again

The edge of this stone has been beveled. There are four lines forming three borders. The first border is from the edge of the stone to the first indent for the bas-relief plaque. The next border line forms a small lip on the inside edge. The third border is the indent into negative space for the accentuation of the bas-relief plaque.
