Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
face with ornamentation
Border
The beveled edge of this stone is complemented by a two line, medium thick border. When it jumps the stone's shoulders, it decreases in width as it continues down the side. There are illustrated panels to the left and right with images of cascading imagery. In this instance, their presentation appears more aquatic than floral.
Remark
The tympanum has two major design elements. The arch, which is just inside of the border, is illustrated in a similar theme as the side panels and is even more aquatic with waves. The winged face is in the "stern judge" tradition. The usual beautifully detailed wig, stern expression, minimal facial details, single quill feathers with multiple segments. Note: the loose earth around the base = increased instability.
Physical Status
