Stone Type
sandstone
Tympanum
face with ornamentation
Border
A two-line border was placed all along the outer edge of this stone. Illustrated panels are found around three sides of the tablet section. Six-pointed flowers are depicted in the upper corners, but tile-like designs were employed instead of leaves and stems in the spaces below.
Remark
For some reasons, his wife's stone was leaned against his stone making his stone unreadable without disturbing these two stones. The included picture was taken off of Find A Grave due to my reluctance to disturb the stones when I was there. The tympanum has two design elements. The wings are not typical but are represented by diagonal-arranged blocks. The outer edge helps define them as wings. The lightbulb-shaped face is odd with accentuated wide nose, thick eyelids, and lips.
