Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
face with ornamentation
Border
There is a slight lip the projects out from the relief on top of the tympanum. Part of it is broken away but half remains. It originally covered about 50% of the tympanum. The line where the relief ends is the defined border of the tympanum and tablet section of this stone. Within the tablet section, the headstone is etched with a two line border along its peak. Below that a fluctuating line from thin to wide and then thin again is cut in bas relief into the stone. It forms a perfect arc that mimics a gravestone despite it floating in space. On either side are two "bed post" that utilize diamond shaped elements along with a "typical" ball to top off the bedpost imagery. The lightly etched alignment lines are still visible.
