Remark
The background to the tympanum is formed by multitudes of single point marks. The central figure shows the beginning of the transition from simple round faces to a more humanistic approach. Because Oliver was a youth, his hair is represented by the same lozenge shape normally reserved for females. One can assume that was chosen because his hair was curly. The details of eyebrows, eye details and the cheeks and chin further the evolution taking place. The head sits on a simple neck which immediately morphs into a bird. The wings and feather are stylized in a simple but detailed primitive manner. Each of the two columns to the left and right of the tablet contain representations of plant life growing up the stone.
