- Surveyed On
- September 1, 2015
- Stone Type
- slate
- Tympanum
- face with ornamentation
- Border
- A thick width two line border remains, but other borders and features of the stone have been lost prior to its placement into a granite frame. In an obtuse decision, they chose to fit the stone to the granite instead of the other way around.
You can see the hint of the original border configuration at the present stone's shoulders. Those lines hit at the commonly etched double two line, thin width borders found on other works.
- Remark
- The tympanic image includes the large forehead style of facial expression. The eyes are exaggerated to extreme pin points locking onto the viewer. The lower face (i.e. mouth, nose, cheeks, chin) are all humanistically etched.
The hair clearly shows the antecedent to the lozenge shaped hair mass used in the past.
The wings continue to utilize two different types of feather to help accentuate the area at the lead edge of the wings, especially around the "neck," and the longer feathers farther out.
