Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
skull
Border
As this stone has significantly eroded, and was damaged during its installation into the granite frame, some of the details have been reduced to illegible. But we can tell there was a border of sorts around the circumference. From its present state, the tympanum appears bordered by multisegmented rows. From the stone's shoulders, it appears to have changed to a two line thing width border. There is also a single row of shapes forming a border between the tympanum and the tablet. The shapes are the wave/nautilus varieties.
Remark
The tympanum's background continues with the multi-segment rows of shapes behind the centrally located skull. This rendition is from an early period with basic eye sockets, upside down heart nasal cavity and heart shaped mouth. At the stone's shoulders, there are circles at the top of the two illustrated side panels that contain a pinwheel-like design. The side panels utilize the same designs as the top panel.
