Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
skull
Border
There appears to have been a two line, thin width border around this stone's circumference. The section from the shoulder down the sides appear removed when the stone was installed in its granite frame. This is apparent by the remnants of the shoulder designs which indicate their existence. There are thin border lines on the top and bottom of the tablet section along with illustrated side panels on either side.
Remark
The skull design incorporates a significant heart shaped motif in the overall shape of the skull with its two hemispheres and the mouth. The nasal cavity is triangular and the eyes are almost round. The background consists of the rows of emanating waves directing the viewer to the skull. Inside the side panels are nautilus like shapes and there were circles on the stone's shoulders prior to its installation in the granite frame.
