Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
skull
Border
Prior to its installation into this granite frame, there was definitely a two line thin border around the stone's circumference. It was thicker in width over the tympanum and thinner over the shoulders and along the sides. Erosion has left only a hit of the two line thin width border around the edge of the tablet section. There are illustrated side panels to the left and right of the tablet. Whether there is a panel along the bottom is up to conjecture as it is below ground level.
Remark
The tympanum features a heart-influenced shapes with the skull itself and the mouth being heart shaped. side panels are illustrated with cascading nautilus-like imagery which in this case seems more floral than aquatic. The eye sockets are oval, the nasal cavity triangular and the mouth a heart. The background uses rows of segments strung together to help focus the viewer on the central image.
