Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
face (male)
Border
A two line border of varying widths follows the circumference of this stone. Part of that variation is due to the loss of the outer edge of the stone either prior to or during its installation into the granite frame. Inside of the outer border, there are illustrated panels containing floral cascading imagery. More floral details are found on the two side panels while along the tympanum, a repeating design resembling an unfurling nautilus. There is a thin, two line border just inside this imagery to separate it from the background. This background consists of oblong ovals in repeating images along three rows behind the face.
Remark
The face, which is very worn, appears like a converted skull design in that the eyes are round and nasal cavity is triangular. There is curly hair on the top of the head. Other details have been lost.
