Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
face with ornamentation
Border
A two line border surrounds this stone outer edge. It is thinner over the tympanum and thicker on the sides and bottom. There is a three line, two border around the tablet. The thicker outer border is accentuated by a thinner border that is etched to resemble rope. There are two illustrated panels to the left and right of the tablet. The illustrations are a column of diamond shapes.
Remark
The tympanum's artwork contains three elements; arch, face and wings. The arch overhead resembles an umbrella with ribs. Damage to the stone has reduced the flame at its apex to an almost illegible image. The face is of a youth and the rendition is late period with very good human details in the mouth, nose, eyes and chin. The wing are very simple and almost impressionistic with minimal details supporting their inclusion.
