slate
Tympanum
face with ornamentation
Border
A two line, medium width border covers the circumference of this stone. There are illustrated panels to left and right of the tablet section. Both panels have a long plant growing up the side. Both have a small tree growing of the outer topmost branch.
Remark
This tympanum has three design elements; face, background and lamps. The face is an early rendition. The round shape, simplistic nose and mouth support that contention. On the other hand, there is a smile which is unusual for the period. The representation for the hair is a middle period depiction of the lozenge shape that was common. It is co-joined with a pixelated frame which echos the background. The background also terminates on both sides with a rectangular shaped space that sits atop the illustrated columns. The two flames are in fleur de lys like shapes.
