Stone Type

Tympanum
face with ornamentation
Border
The border begins over the tympanum with two lines of medium width. After this border's termination at the bottom of the tympanum, it hops over the stone's shoulders decreased in width by about half and forms the outer border for the illustrated side panels. The tablet section has a single line border.
Remark
The image in the tympanum of a winged face is from an early period. The shape of the face is just coming out of the age when it was round as the cheeks and chin make an appearance. The eyes are detailed but not humanistic. The hair is that lozenge-shaped graphic plopped on top of the head. There is a hint of a neck and a simple collar at at the junction of the neck and the wings. The background is pocked with single pin points. The wings are detailed to a greater extent with lead feathers and greater texture. The wings are detailed with three main types; the lead end which is blank, the top row which is etched with detail and the main feathers in two layers. The side panel imagery appears to be the abstract undulating shapes. The general shapes like water with bubbles underneath a piece of glass.
