Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
face with ornamentation
Border
A two line border runs along the edge of this stone. It is thicker over the tympanum and thinner over the stone's shoulders and sides. Illustrated side panels sit to the left and right of the tablet section. At the top of each column is a six point design/star. While the stone has deteriorated, the rest of the etchings seems to be the undulating, rounded shapes. Here, while abstract, they appear to be more aquatic than floral.
Remark
The tympanum displays a winged face. It coincides with designs from the middle period where more human features were defined but still not reaching the more delineated late period. Here the hair is the lozenge-shaped design on top of the head, the details to the face are stiff and unnatural. The neck line does pass into the tablet section which is unusual and appears to include a collar. The wings consist of two designs; a smaller, rounder one for closer to the human and longer flowing feathers farther out on the wings.
