Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
face with ornamentation, memento mori
Border
The two line, medium width border runs unimpeded around the circumference of this stone. The tablet section forms a gabled plaque shape. There is a two line, medium width border around its circumference too.
Remark
The year of death is a guess due to the lack access afforded by the overgrown tree trunk. The tympanum contains four design elements. Memento Mori is emblazoned on the arch at the apex of the tympanum. The face with its hair pulled straight back, straight unemotional mouth and blank eyes, show it's confirm its period of production. The wings appear like modified tab style with tapered ends. Mirror-imaged plants begin at the stone's shoulders and grow towards the lower tympanum.
