Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
face with ornamentation
Border
This stone has a beveled edge complemented by a two line, thin width bas-relief border around its circumference. There are illustrated panels on either side of the tablet that are illustrated with cascading abstract images that appear more aquatic with nautilus-like swirls in-dispersed down the panel. There is a rosetta-like flower at the stone's shoulders.
Remark
The tympanum has two major design elements. The face is a middle period rendition. The facial details are being improved realistically but the simple shape of the head and the lack of increased realism keep it in this time frame. The wig is detailed beautifully lending body to the curls. The wings are very detailed with fine feathers details along the single quill. The strong lead edge of the wings is further reinforced by the shorter feathers at that edge.
