Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
face with ornamentation
Border
The two line border over the top of the tympanum has a thick width. The border over the stone's shoulders and down the sides are less than half that width. An illustrated side panel is found to the left and right of the tablet section. Each panel is topped by a Canterbury cross in a circle. Down the length of each panel are cascading abstract designs of rounded undulating shapes. At three similar points within each column are shapes that look like a multilevel DQ ice cream.
Remark
This tympanum has a beautifully etched early period rendition. The round head shape and the lozenge shaped hair keeps that impression. The wings are presented in very lovingly detailed with two types of feathers. The ones on the wing's lead edge and closest to the body are smaller and appear almost scale like. The trailing edge of the wings feathers are longer and more flowing.
