face with ornamentation
Border
A two line, thin width border was designed along the circumference of this stone. The tablet is presented in bas-relief within another two line border that is depressed into the negative space to provide the raised effect.
Remark
The tympanum has two design elements. The arch overhead has a serrated edge along its bottom edge. The upper part of the arch is thinner and brought to a point in a crown-like shape with what appears to be the flame in the middle in the border. The round face has detailing as befits this period with clearly defined eyes, cheeks, chin, mouth and a eyebrow to nose transition. His hair is combed straight down. The wings are tab-like with a rounded tip and lines to designate multiple feathers. The lead edge of the wings is also clearly defined.
