Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
face with ornamentation
Border
A two line, thin width border surrounds three sides of this stone's circumference. As it traverses the bottom, it expands. The tablet has a single line around it. The poem has a line on the top and bottom that resembles a twisted rope.
Remark
The tympanum has two main design elements. The arch has morphed into more of a proscenium around the winged face. It is decorated with mirror-image designs of plants culminating with an abstract fleur de lys in the center of the top. The face is late period realistic. It still has a more rounded shape but it morphing into a more realistic oval. The eyes, mouth, cheeks, chin, and hair (combed straight down) are still emotionless. The wings are tab-type but sharpened and contain lines to denote multiple feathers. The illustrated panels are on the side. The designs are not mirror-imaged but follow the same design cues. Each side's plant originates a the bottom and climbs up the panel to the stone's shoulders.
